A little bit of Arequipa

Transfers!!!  I am staying here in Casablanca, but Elder Delgado left! I have a new companion from Peru, a place called Arequipa! The Texas of Peru! It;s pretty awesome! He is great, loves questions, and is really easily distracted!  We have been doing great in our area so far, getting better every day! We are working with Alberto and Patricia! We are going to put in their papers to get married this Tuesday, and we will have to wait 3 weeks for the paperwork to go through!!! We found Gabby, a normal Peruvian! haha! But she is working to get baptized this month! We had 9 people in the church, but everyone needs to get married... So it was kind of sad for our numbers, even though we have been working hard!  We never know what we are going to do here! Something weird always happens! We have been planning a dance for this last Wednesday! It was awesome! In the end, all of the Relief Society couldn't help prepare food! So we basically wasted a whole day of m...

Sky Blue

Hey! We had another Baptism!!! Celeste Lopez! One of the quickest baptisms I have seen! We found her I believe 2 weeks ago and is the best! She is the daughter of a less active member! She had already read up until Alma, and knew all of the Plan of Salvation! So we taught her the commandments, she attended church, and was baptized this Saturday!! And it is a little bit of a miracle, because they are finishing Vacations, and now they have 0 time to talk to us! They are completely busy! So it was basically her time for the lessons, and to get baptized!  Before the baptism at 7, (8:30 Peruvian Time). At 4 we ended up at a service project with the Elders quorum! We destroyed a rock wall behind a house and had to carry the rocks/Dirt in buckets. Then we all took turns with a sledge hammer at a big rock in the middle that the Jackhammer couldn't touch. But we left to try and teach someone, and then right to our baptism! But it was great! Last P day, we just ate at a Mexican Peru...

August!

We went to the temple this Tuesday! Super great! We left in the morning and took the train! We went with my convert Johnathan, and Leyder who is an awesome member who is sending his papers in this month! We got to the temple, and Johnathan wasn't ready! He got a little nervous, and to help him out, He baptized ME! So I got baptized by my convert! It was pretty cool! We ate Subway, and I saw Lesly! My other convert from Bello Horizonte! It was super awesome to see how she is doing, and she is getting married with a Return Missionary Venezuelan! Awesome!!  We found a whole bunch of cool investigators this week! Lots of interesting people, but None ended up at church! But we did find a girl of a less active family who have been coming back to church, and we didn't know that she wasn't baptized! Mini miracle! Her name is Celeste and she already knows everything, and has read the Book of Mormon until Alma! So we are super good with her!  Someone slipped me a fake 20 so...

Hello!

So! Peru is still the same, we are just MEGA cold right now!! Its actually not that cold, but the humidity is killer sometimes! Our room is on the 3rd story, and we already live up a decent climb! There is always fog/mist when we wake up! I am not cold at night, but getting out of my blankets sometimes is a little hard! haha! And our clothes still don't dry! We use a hair dryer for our socks right now... We make it work!  So we are having some problems with investigators. They aren’t really showing their desires to repent, and make the changes necesary. We have been working with people like Lee, Shantaly, Jenny, Eresbita, Elena, Santiago.... Etc! We always have at least 10 people who say they will attend church, without a doubt! And then 2 or 4 attend! So we are really contacting new people! Almost completely starting over!  We have a new way to contact people right now because we have such a big problem with church attendance. When we contact the people, we ask ...

Casablanca again!

Another week here in Casablanca! We have been working hard, but slowly our investigators slipped out of our hands this week! We had one baptism this last Saturday - Johnathan Castro! He is super funny! Super weird! He almost didn't get baptized because he didn't like that the baptismal clothing was too big! He is great! We had a lot of lunches fall through this week and ate chicken 4 times! Haha! But I continue to lose weight! That would be because of the crazy marathon we do every day starting up high, going down my area, and returning almost every day! It is super crazy workout! My area is normal for San Juan de Lurigancho! Hills, dogs and dust! Nothing too strange!! But at least I have water this time! It’s all really really normal now, and I don't know how I am going to react when I get home! I am going to feel RICH!! Everything is cool! Our ward is trying to get together more, and there are 0 activities! So we are working on doing that! We need to hel...

CasaBlanca

Hey everyone!!! These two weeks in Casablanca are super great! We have a ton of investigators, members to help, and our ward is pretty nice! The only problem is, it is placed on 4 large hills! well... 6 I believe, but I have the 4!  There is a long road that leads up to nowhere, and the right side is mine, and we split the other side for the other two elders, Jardine and Cruz! I am here with Elder Delgado! From Manta Ecuador! I saw him in my first area for 2 transfers, and already know him a little bit!  I am not District leader anymore, I kind of didn't want to this last transfer, it got super super hard! My district had a lot of problems! And I didn't know how to handle it! But I did learn a TON! And I was able to see Elder Godoy from the 70 in a training, so at least I was a leader to listen to him! He came and basically said, wow! You guys are the best mission in the world! And then we asked questions for 2 hours.... It wasn't really a training more of a motiv...
