Hello!

So!

Peru is still the same, we are just MEGA cold right now!! Its actually not that cold, but the humidity is killer sometimes! Our room is on the 3rd story, and we already live up a decent climb! There is always fog/mist when we wake up! I am not cold at night, but getting out of my blankets sometimes is a little hard! haha! And our clothes still don't dry! We use a hair dryer for our socks right now... We make it work!

So we are having some problems with investigators. They aren’t really showing their desires to repent, and make the changes necesary. We have been working with people like Lee, Shantaly, Jenny, Eresbita, Elena, Santiago.... Etc! We always have at least 10 people who say they will attend church, without a doubt! And then 2 or 4 attend! So we are really contacting new people! Almost completely starting over!

We have a new way to contact people right now because we have such a big problem with church attendance. When we contact the people, we ask them if they are married, and if they are, great! We continue... And then we invite them to church! And if they are willing to say yes in the moment, THEN we can ask for an appointment! We are filtering out our investigators from the beginning!

We are also teaching Lesson 1 a lot more simple! Focusing on the key points of the lesson! And teaching more about the authority and Priesthood! And we are teaching in 20 minutes! It is a super cool way, to really teach about the doctrine of the lessons, and see if the people we are teaching are chosen, or if we shouldn't waste as much time as we do on people who don´t even understand the importance of the Book of Mormon! My companion has a little bit of a struggle with this, because he really likes to talk! And I agree, it is really hard to Teach instead of talk and explain, and talk some more!

There are 2 new elders that were going to Nicaragua, but were reassigned here! Elder Stevens and Elder Lainhart! Elder Stevens is in my old area, probably suffering without water, and smelling pigs every day, and I am in the same district as Lainhart! I went on a work visit with Lainhart, and it is super crazy to think that almost a year ago I was in the same spot!

I think I have finally stopped loosing so much weight. I am stuck here at normal person! But my legs are going to be Giant if i stay in this area! So so so many stairs! And now my area is bigger after they closed the other area in our ward! We are doing a ton of walking!! And divisions in the ward to cover double area!

I am doing just great here, and even better now that we are working hard at finding more people! Its super easy to contact, and even easier now that I have time doing it! I am not going to lie, I really didn't like to contact.... for the first 10 months of the mission. But now its SUPER normal! And asking for references is even more natural!

I'm happy as always! And super excited for this week! We are also going to the temple tomorrow!!

Have a great week! Love you guys!

Hasta Luego!

The Peruvian Census

This week was fantastic!  We have been working really hard with all of our Fechas! (People with a baptism Date) We have Shandu and Shande, who are really ready! We have been teaching them as much as we can and today they are going to have their interviews! Shandu is only 12, but has the most amazing little spirit! And Shande is 14, and would rather play futbol, but has now learned the importance of the gospel! The two brothers are excited! We are having a problem teaching their sister, Sasha. She is just having a hard, teenage life! Haha! But is 16, and we are trying for the 11th of November to have her baptized! And you can't forget about Edu! I haven't NOT received a hug every time I see him! He is so awesome, and his parents, Rosa and Raúl, were able to go to church yesterday!  The reason that Rosa and Raúl went is because we had church at 6 PM. That is because we had El Censo de Peru! For the Census, everyone had to stay in their house fro...

Que Pasa?

Hola Amigos! Como van todo? So this week was just dandy! I have been working hard, and learning a lot! For P-Day last week, we went to a park down in Metro! It was fun, we cooked hamburgers, played some Futbol, some frisbee, talked, and just had a good time! We have new people from this last transfer, and the new gringos! Its funny how Amazing they think I am, and then they realize I only have 6 weeks on them! haha! They are also from the Mexico MTC! They are fun, but I still like my group! Anyway! We had a baptism this week! Gabriela Diego! She is so wonderful, and it was a special day! Then yesterday, she was only 20 min. late to go to her confirmation! haha! That was kind of funny! But it all worked out! We were able to see her transformation, and her desire to rely on Christ. I went on a Work Transfer, or exchanges with Elder Seymour. He is one of the new Americans from Indiana! This meant we had to teach with my little experience, and his less experience! It was p...

Hello!

This week was just dandy!! We found a lot more investigators this week! Especially since we only had 2 last week... but 11 is a much better number. We have a lot of new people, but not a lot that want to progress. One of our investigators is Ana, whose real name is Gabriella. (I only sing high school musical sometimes in her house under my breath!) But she is fantastic! She is a reference from Mama Luz, who owns our house we live in. Mama Luz is not a member, but helps teach our lessons! Ana is very interested in all of what we have to say, and really wants to be baptized!  We have 3 Teenagers who I feel are going to be baptized! One is a brother of an Inactive member, and he loves church on Sunday! Edu! Funny little 11 year old kid! The other two are brothers, Marcos and Shandu! Shandu really wants to be baptized, and Marcos only half listens, but with time, he will be great!  We may find 11 people in a week, but a lot of them don't stick with us. They h...
