Learning to marry people in Peru

These weeks have been fantastic! I have had such a great time here in Casablanca! We have found a TON of families, but all of them need to get married in order to get baptized. So - we have been organizing paperwork, focusing a lot on their testimonies, and visiting the same people over and over and over again!

Alberto and Patricia are going to be the first to get baptized! We have been working with them ever since I got here, and it looks like I am going to leave the week they get baptized! Woohoo! How sad! Haha! They always invite us to eat at their house, and of course Picarones on the street, because that’s Patricias Job, selling scone circles! We have helped with their rabbit cage, cleaned dishes, cleaned floors, and we are always helping and receiving more and more food! Alberto doesn't have a phone right now and is a taxi driver, so it makes it super difficult to get in contact with him and his papers to get married! But we are finally there!

We will most likely have a baptism this week, Estér Villegas! She just turned 9 and was never baptized even though her family is activating itself again! So woohoo!

And Gabby! She finally came back to church! She has had a TON of problems getting to church on Sunday, for family problems! We had planned to baptize her at the beginning of the other month, but she hasn't been able to attend! So with this Sunday, she will be all good to go! And we are planning on the 29th! She is super sweet, and with her son Gael, she is always super happy! She is super chill, and loves the church! She is always reading her book of mormon, even though her kid almost never lets her!

We have been teaching a few others regularly, like Abi, Damaris, and Yarumi. The two moms need to get married, and so we have to talk about marriage every time we go! But they want to! We just have to talk to their partners! The hard part! Haha!

Last P-day we played Mundialito, or mini world cup! We organized teams, and played in a grass court! It was awesome! My team won! woohoo! Then we ate some bistec a lo pobre! (Steak, rice, plantain, and egg)

Well, I have been on work visits with Elder Lainhart, we had stake conference, and they are going to open up the other side of Casablanca, so we aren't alone again!

I have been contacting a lot more, we have even knocked on some doors! We are just trying to find a lot more people as always, we are only finding 11 people every week, and we need to be finding at least 15! So we have to improve on that! Ask more references and contact more!

It’s been really fun to contact, I didn't enjoy it basically my whole mission! But Its a lot better now, especially contacting every Family that passes by! No exceptions! And that is why we are super happy here! Because we are focusing on families, I just won't be here for a lot of it!

But even though I am getting a little trunky having only 9 months left, I have still been chugging away, and with my comp, I am learning how to teach Much better! He is a fantastic Teacher!!!

Thanks for everything! Talk to you all later!

Chao!

Hello!

This week was just dandy!! We found a lot more investigators this week! Especially since we only had 2 last week... but 11 is a much better number. We have a lot of new people, but not a lot that want to progress. One of our investigators is Ana, whose real name is Gabriella. (I only sing high school musical sometimes in her house under my breath!) But she is fantastic! She is a reference from Mama Luz, who owns our house we live in. Mama Luz is not a member, but helps teach our lessons! Ana is very interested in all of what we have to say, and really wants to be baptized!  We have 3 Teenagers who I feel are going to be baptized! One is a brother of an Inactive member, and he loves church on Sunday! Edu! Funny little 11 year old kid! The other two are brothers, Marcos and Shandu! Shandu really wants to be baptized, and Marcos only half listens, but with time, he will be great!  We may find 11 people in a week, but a lot of them don't stick with us. They h...

Que Pasa?

Hola Amigos! Como van todo? So this week was just dandy! I have been working hard, and learning a lot! For P-Day last week, we went to a park down in Metro! It was fun, we cooked hamburgers, played some Futbol, some frisbee, talked, and just had a good time! We have new people from this last transfer, and the new gringos! Its funny how Amazing they think I am, and then they realize I only have 6 weeks on them! haha! They are also from the Mexico MTC! They are fun, but I still like my group! Anyway! We had a baptism this week! Gabriela Diego! She is so wonderful, and it was a special day! Then yesterday, she was only 20 min. late to go to her confirmation! haha! That was kind of funny! But it all worked out! We were able to see her transformation, and her desire to rely on Christ. I went on a Work Transfer, or exchanges with Elder Seymour. He is one of the new Americans from Indiana! This meant we had to teach with my little experience, and his less experience! It was p...

We need more INCAS!

Hey howdy hey! So this week we started off with another District Monopoly, I didn't win this time... Sadness! But we had some Family home evenings, and it was all great! Then on Tuesday we cleaned up pigeon poop from one of our investigators Abi! We found some baby pigeons, along with one big dead one!  But the rest of the week was pretty normal! We spent one whole day knocking on doors, and found maybe 1 person, but we still haven't had an opportunity to teach! Haha! So a lot of people, but not too much success here!  I have been drinking Mate! It is the best! It’s an argentine thing, and I am thinking of buying myself a mate! Its super good like a bitter tea, but you can add sugar! We go and drink it with Junior before we have to sleep! It’s a fun way to sit and talk!  We had 12 investigators in the church this week! Lots of people needed to attend and didn't! So we have plenty of work! Really it’s just teaching the same lessons, and then helping with...
