No Se

Hola todos!

So, the first thing I have to say today is that Internet in Peru is not the quickest, or the most reliable! And even worse when the church program doesn't work!

Anyway! We are doing just dandy here in Montenegro 4! We are so high up that the climate literally has changed! We get rain every once in a while, not too much, but enough! It is not too hot, but everyone gets a little sweaty here! It really changes with a gate that leads into this other province!

I forgot everything I have said, so If I repeat I am sorry...

We have a member who cooks for us! Almost whatever we want, we end up getting! She loves to bake, try new things, and is such a sweet, amazing lady! She is also mega strict, and has a heart attack every time we do something! She is always stressed out! When we wash the dishes after lunch, she watches us, and if we turn the water on too much she shouts, if we don't turn it off while we are scrubbing, she shouts! If we throw away any scrap of food, it's the scariest thing! haha! She is so sweet, but with a random shouty stressed out face after! And she is so specific! Everything HAS to be in order! She doesn't let me put salt on my food, because she says I use too much, and won't let my companion drink anything with Ice because he was a little sick, and the ice will kill him! (Or at least that’s how she explained it!)

We have a lot  of investigators, and always have references for more and more people! Again, it is hard to talk about the people we are teaching, because we don't know if they are going to progress or not... but we did find a family with a son they never baptized! They have been active up until this last year, and it was because they couldn't find the church, but have been coming now with Caesar! He is 9 years old but is so tiny it is so funny! He is great! And he understands everything! So we are all good to go with his baptism this 27th!

We are also teaching a niece of a member here! Her family is not members, but she loves to listen to us! Her name is Yaquibel, but everyone calls her yaqui! Which is just Jakie! haha! She has a ton of questions, and is progressing really really fast! We are planning her baptism for this 3rd of February!

We were a little sick a few weeks ago, but now all of that has passed! We are totally ready to move forward and find new people!

My Companion is from Chimbote Peru, which is a fishing town! But he is from the city part... It is really funny because every person that hears Chimbote says "Oh! I went by Chimbote, it smells like fish really really bad, right?" Everyone knows that it just smells like fish! He says the Civiche there is the best in the world! And it makes sense! So I better drop by his house one day!

The mission is fantastic! And I will never stop saying that! it is such an amazing experience, that you can never take back! To see the change in people, even if they don't get baptized, its wonderful! And to see how happy the members are to have the missionaries in their house is amazing!

Thank you for reading!

Hasta Luego!

The Peruvian Census

This week was fantastic!  We have been working really hard with all of our Fechas! (People with a baptism Date) We have Shandu and Shande, who are really ready! We have been teaching them as much as we can and today they are going to have their interviews! Shandu is only 12, but has the most amazing little spirit! And Shande is 14, and would rather play futbol, but has now learned the importance of the gospel! The two brothers are excited! We are having a problem teaching their sister, Sasha. She is just having a hard, teenage life! Haha! But is 16, and we are trying for the 11th of November to have her baptized! And you can't forget about Edu! I haven't NOT received a hug every time I see him! He is so awesome, and his parents, Rosa and Raúl, were able to go to church yesterday!  The reason that Rosa and Raúl went is because we had church at 6 PM. That is because we had El Censo de Peru! For the Census, everyone had to stay in their house fro...

Que Pasa?

Hola Amigos! Como van todo? So this week was just dandy! I have been working hard, and learning a lot! For P-Day last week, we went to a park down in Metro! It was fun, we cooked hamburgers, played some Futbol, some frisbee, talked, and just had a good time! We have new people from this last transfer, and the new gringos! Its funny how Amazing they think I am, and then they realize I only have 6 weeks on them! haha! They are also from the Mexico MTC! They are fun, but I still like my group! Anyway! We had a baptism this week! Gabriela Diego! She is so wonderful, and it was a special day! Then yesterday, she was only 20 min. late to go to her confirmation! haha! That was kind of funny! But it all worked out! We were able to see her transformation, and her desire to rely on Christ. I went on a Work Transfer, or exchanges with Elder Seymour. He is one of the new Americans from Indiana! This meant we had to teach with my little experience, and his less experience! It was p...

Hello!

This week was just dandy!! We found a lot more investigators this week! Especially since we only had 2 last week... but 11 is a much better number. We have a lot of new people, but not a lot that want to progress. One of our investigators is Ana, whose real name is Gabriella. (I only sing high school musical sometimes in her house under my breath!) But she is fantastic! She is a reference from Mama Luz, who owns our house we live in. Mama Luz is not a member, but helps teach our lessons! Ana is very interested in all of what we have to say, and really wants to be baptized!  We have 3 Teenagers who I feel are going to be baptized! One is a brother of an Inactive member, and he loves church on Sunday! Edu! Funny little 11 year old kid! The other two are brothers, Marcos and Shandu! Shandu really wants to be baptized, and Marcos only half listens, but with time, he will be great!  We may find 11 people in a week, but a lot of them don't stick with us. They h...
