Hello!

So!

Peru is still the same, we are just MEGA cold right now!! Its actually not that cold, but the humidity is killer sometimes! Our room is on the 3rd story, and we already live up a decent climb! There is always fog/mist when we wake up! I am not cold at night, but getting out of my blankets sometimes is a little hard! haha! And our clothes still don't dry! We use a hair dryer for our socks right now... We make it work!

So we are having some problems with investigators. They aren’t really showing their desires to repent, and make the changes necesary. We have been working with people like Lee, Shantaly, Jenny, Eresbita, Elena, Santiago.... Etc! We always have at least 10 people who say they will attend church, without a doubt! And then 2 or 4 attend! So we are really contacting new people! Almost completely starting over!

We have a new way to contact people right now because we have such a big problem with church attendance. When we contact the people, we ask them if they are married, and if they are, great! We continue... And then we invite them to church! And if they are willing to say yes in the moment, THEN we can ask for an appointment! We are filtering out our investigators from the beginning!

We are also teaching Lesson 1 a lot more simple! Focusing on the key points of the lesson! And teaching more about the authority and Priesthood! And we are teaching in 20 minutes! It is a super cool way, to really teach about the doctrine of the lessons, and see if the people we are teaching are chosen, or if we shouldn't waste as much time as we do on people who don´t even understand the importance of the Book of Mormon! My companion has a little bit of a struggle with this, because he really likes to talk! And I agree, it is really hard to Teach instead of talk and explain, and talk some more!

There are 2 new elders that were going to Nicaragua, but were reassigned here! Elder Stevens and Elder Lainhart! Elder Stevens is in my old area, probably suffering without water, and smelling pigs every day, and I am in the same district as Lainhart! I went on a work visit with Lainhart, and it is super crazy to think that almost a year ago I was in the same spot!

I think I have finally stopped loosing so much weight. I am stuck here at normal person! But my legs are going to be Giant if i stay in this area! So so so many stairs! And now my area is bigger after they closed the other area in our ward! We are doing a ton of walking!! And divisions in the ward to cover double area!

I am doing just great here, and even better now that we are working hard at finding more people! Its super easy to contact, and even easier now that I have time doing it! I am not going to lie, I really didn't like to contact.... for the first 10 months of the mission. But now its SUPER normal! And asking for references is even more natural!

I'm happy as always! And super excited for this week! We are also going to the temple tomorrow!!

Have a great week! Love you guys!

Hasta Luego!

Hey! We had another Baptism!!! Celeste Lopez! One of the quickest baptisms I have seen! We found her I believe 2 weeks ago and is the best! She is the daughter of a less active member! She had already read up until Alma, and knew all of the Plan of Salvation! So we taught her the commandments, she attended church, and was baptized this Saturday!! And it is a little bit of a miracle, because they are finishing Vacations, and now they have 0 time to talk to us! They are completely busy! So it was basically her time for the lessons, and to get baptized!  Before the baptism at 7, (8:30 Peruvian Time). At 4 we ended up at a service project with the Elders quorum! We destroyed a rock wall behind a house and had to carry the rocks/Dirt in buckets. Then we all took turns with a sledge hammer at a big rock in the middle that the Jackhammer couldn't touch. But we left to try and teach someone, and then right to our baptism! But it was great! Last P day, we just ate at a Mexican Peru...

CasaBlanca

Hey everyone!!! These two weeks in Casablanca are super great! We have a ton of investigators, members to help, and our ward is pretty nice! The only problem is, it is placed on 4 large hills! well... 6 I believe, but I have the 4!  There is a long road that leads up to nowhere, and the right side is mine, and we split the other side for the other two elders, Jardine and Cruz! I am here with Elder Delgado! From Manta Ecuador! I saw him in my first area for 2 transfers, and already know him a little bit!  I am not District leader anymore, I kind of didn't want to this last transfer, it got super super hard! My district had a lot of problems! And I didn't know how to handle it! But I did learn a TON! And I was able to see Elder Godoy from the 70 in a training, so at least I was a leader to listen to him! He came and basically said, wow! You guys are the best mission in the world! And then we asked questions for 2 hours.... It wasn't really a training more of a motiv...

We need more INCAS!

Hey howdy hey! So this week we started off with another District Monopoly, I didn't win this time... Sadness! But we had some Family home evenings, and it was all great! Then on Tuesday we cleaned up pigeon poop from one of our investigators Abi! We found some baby pigeons, along with one big dead one!  But the rest of the week was pretty normal! We spent one whole day knocking on doors, and found maybe 1 person, but we still haven't had an opportunity to teach! Haha! So a lot of people, but not too much success here!  I have been drinking Mate! It is the best! It’s an argentine thing, and I am thinking of buying myself a mate! Its super good like a bitter tea, but you can add sugar! We go and drink it with Junior before we have to sleep! It’s a fun way to sit and talk!  We had 12 investigators in the church this week! Lots of people needed to attend and didn't! So we have plenty of work! Really it’s just teaching the same lessons, and then helping with...
